What should I ask a family photographer?
Where do the photography sessions take place?
Do they offer outdoor sessions? Do they offer sessions within your home? Do they offer studio sessions? Is this your preference? This is how it works for me;
As I’m not tied to a studio space, I like to leave the place up to you. I am based in Sidcup which is in Bexley, but I have worked with families in Lewisham, Bromley, Croydon, Greenwich and Southwark. I’m a Londoner through and through but, I love to explore and discover new places. Hopefully choosing your own space will help you all feel relaxed. Your family photography sessions can either take place within the comfort of your family home, where you are most at ease, or at a chosen green space which you know and love to visit, making it a special place for you and your family. Where is your prefered special space? Is it in your home or a local green space?

How does the whole process work?
It is important to be in the know from beginning to end. It helps you to feel at ease, which means that you will be relaxed on the day and really enjoy your photo session.
If you contact me via one of the social media platforms, I will ask for your contact details and we will continue to communicate via email, and if you wish have a quick chat on the phone.
Once we have had a little chat about what you would like and where it might take place, we will move onto booking a date and time which suits your family. At this point I will send you an invoice as I will require a small payment in advance, the only payment which will be required to confirm your booking will be the session fee which is £99.
If we haven’t already spoken, I will then arrange to give you a quick call to help to break the ice before we meet in person, this will also give you an opportunity to ask any other questions or share any concerns.
On the day of the session, I will send you an email or text to confirm the meeting point, if it is an outdoor session and also check that all is well.
Whether your session is a lifestyle photography session within your home or a walk in the park, together we will document it all.
Together we will have a blast and I will document many treasured moments. Once we have said our goodbyes, I will get onto editing your images. This usually takes around 2 weeks. Your images will then be uploaded onto an online gallery which you will then have access to via an email link.
Once you have had some time to look through and have decided on how many images you would like, you will be able to purchase the package which best suits you and your family. From here your digital downloads will be available to you and any prints will be processed and delivered within 3 weeks.
I do hope this gives you a good idea of how the whole process will proceed with me from beginning to end.

What happens during a lifestyle session in my home?
As photographers, we all work differently. This is how a lifestyle session works with me;
It’s not everyones first choice but, my customers have loved being within the comfort of their home, even the ones who were a little unsure. The children are more relaxed and so are dads. It means that there is no packing and organising, no planning the shortest route there the night before. Whether your session is a lifestyle photography session within your home, a walk in the park or both. I would like you to be yourslevs and continue to do everything as you usually do. I will do my best to be a fly on the wall whilst I document all of your day-to-day moments, playful smiles, story time, snack time, cuddles, hide and seek in the park or maybe jumping in muddy puddles. Whatever your family love to do, I will be there to document every moment.

What happened if it’s an outdoor session and it rains?
Photographers are prepared for all weather conditions. We all have waterproof covers and most likely own waterproof and warm clothing. Going ahead or rebooking your session all depends on you and your family. If going out in the rain is your thing and you are all prepared in wellies, raincoats, and umbrellas then I recommend that you continue with the session, as long as you are ok with getting a little wet. I’m a relatively flexible photographer and so if it is absolutely awful weather and you’d rather not, then we simply rebook the session on a different day that suits all of us and hope for better weather, next time. The session fee is transferable to other dates, so fear not, we will document your family.

What should we wear?
Here are a few helpful tips;
Plan your outfits in advance. Leaving it to last minute may cause a little unwelcomed stress
I’d suggest choosing coordinating colours, not matching
If it’s an outdoor session, why not use the season to help select colour schemes for your outfits
Choose practical clothing items, it’s always best to feel comfortable
If it’s your thing, pick out accessories to add texture to your photos

How do i receive my photos?
Every photographer works differently. Some offer in person viewing others send tiny proofs to view. I send my customers a very user friendly online galley to view from the comfort of your home.
Once your photos are ready to be viewed, you will receive an email from myself via an online gallery called shoot proof, inviting you to take a look at your photos. I recommend sitting back with a nice cup of tea and enjoying viewing your photos with your loved ones on a larger screen, but if you simply can’t wait, don’t worry the gallery is mobile compatible so you can view then asap on your mobile phone.
